Frequently Asked Questions
Does donating blood hurt my pet?
No. The process is conducted under the gentle supervision of qualified veterinary professionals. Pets receive physical examinations, mild sedation if needed for comfort, fluid supplementation, and plenty of post-donation treats and hydration.
Why do emergency requests expire after 3 days?
Blood transfusions are acute medical emergencies. Setting a 3-day window ensures that pet parents and donors are not flooded with calls for cases that are already resolved. Owners can easily extend their active post by 3 days with a single click if the emergency persists.
Is there any fee or payment for donating blood?
No. ThePawsitiveCommunity strictly prohibits commercial sale or purchase of pet blood. All donations are voluntary acts of kindness by compassionate pet parents.
